A healthcare organization is seeking an Application Support Officer to deliver end-user support and manage processes related to Digital Applications. The role involves configuring systems, training staff, and ensuring optimal application usage across hospitals. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills and a methodical approach to managing problems within the NHS context.
The post holder delivers end-user support, training (where applicable), and manages all processes related to Application Management for one or more Digital Applications within the team’s portfolio.
The post-holder will investigate, manage, and resolve issues and problems raised against their portfolio, liaising with third-party system suppliers as necessary.
The post-holder will assist in developing specifications for change requests related to the team’s application portfolio.
The post holder will support strategic planning regarding the current and future configuration of the application portfolio and will participate in various work streams within wider Digital Services projects or programmes.
The post holder will also deliver training resources for the application portfolio to ensure local support processes are optimized.
The Application Management function includes sub-functions such as general operations, problem management, user support, Cerner core-build, data corrections, RA, local training, and configuration. The Application Support Officer will work closely with other teams within Digital Services, including Business Intelligence, Clinical Coding, Information Governance, and Data Quality. The role involves liaising directly on project work streams with Project Managers and system vendors.
This role ensures that clinical systems are administered, maintained, configured, and trained in a way that meets the Trusts' ongoing needs, both in Community and Acute Services.
You will be based at Northwick Park Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital, working on a rota covering shifts from 08:00 to 18:30. The post holder may be required to work at other sites, including Ealing Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital, and Mount Vernon Hospital.
You will provide guidance to staff on system access and assist Senior Application Managers in liaising with clinical and operational staff to maximize application usage. Duties include configuration, training, data quality, and user support.
You should have a methodical approach, enthusiasm for change and release management processes, and good communication skills to interact with clinical, clerical, and management staff daily.
