Job Summary

Alton Refrigeration & Home Furnishings is always looking for a talented Appliance / Furniture Service Technician or Service Technician Trainee to join our team!

As an Appliance Service Technician / Trainee, you are a key member responsible for the quality and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of appliances / furniture and other equipment. You will also develop new customers by identifying opportunities to sell additional work or products.

Responsibilities:

• Repair / Install home appliances, furniture, or other products we sell
• Accurately diagnose and repair appliances/equipment in the customer's home or at our store location
• Provide cost estimates for repairs/installations and collect payment and/or payment information from customers for work performed
• Perform other duties as needed, which may include cross-training in related positions (e.g., parts counter, warehouse tasks)

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's License with a clean record
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Proficiency in navigating tablet-based technology / computer
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and up to 100 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance, and perform strenuous work under varied circumstances
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear; occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds
• Mechanically capable of using hand tools and working with hands
• Capable of troubleshooting problems and fixing them
• Willingness to learn troubleshooting and repairing appliances and furniture
