Apparel Product Developer

Location: Manchester

A leading name in the retail sector is seeking a Product Developer to join their growing own brand development team based in their Manchester head office.

You will be responsible for developing new own brand offerings across fashion, including men’s, women’s, kids’, and accessories, to maximize sales and profit, ensuring continued growth across both stores and online. You will work closely with the Design, Buying, and Merchandising departments.

Some additional duties will include:

• Providing team support to ensure the successful completion of delivery priorities across the own brand department.
• Managing the critical path to ensure the overall development process is smooth and production dates are maintained.
• Highlighting and resolving any issues with the Merchandising and Supply Chain teams.
• Being responsible for all sample stages, including measuring and sending comments on own brand samples across all categories, ensuring they are completed within the required timeframes.
• Ensuring all products are compliant with specific regulations, product safety, and legislations.
• Working alongside senior developers throughout the product development cycle to ensure the own brand quality and fit standards are achieved.
• Providing department support in all areas, from supplier communication, record keeping, filing systems, movement of samples, and sample storage.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Product Developer or Garment Technologist within fashion.
• A relevant fashion or textile degree is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise/influence at all levels.
• Ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting and tight deadlines.
• High commercial and customer awareness.
• Strong numerical skills with the ability to analyze data.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office products, specifically Excel.
