Role Overview

The Country Manager is responsible for the overall business performance, strategic growth, and brand presence across the country. This role closely partners with, and is supported by, regional retail operations, marketing, HR, logistics, and finance to ensure the alignment of national strategies with global objectives. The Country Manager is accountable for driving profitability, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and talent development across all regions.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and implement the national retail strategy in alignment with the company's global objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for market expansion, partnerships, and new business models.
  • Lead the annual business planning process, including setting country-level goals, KPIs, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and manage a robust succession and talent pipeline across all leadership roles.

Sales and Market Development

  • Oversee national sales performance; analyze trends and adjust strategies to ensure growth and profitability.
  • Lead multi-channel sales initiatives, including retail, e-commerce, and potential wholesale or franchise expansions.
  • Evaluate market performance against national targets; implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Support brand-building and marketing campaigns tailored to the local market, in coordination with global and regional teams.

Customer Experience & Brand Standards

  • Champion a customer-centric culture across all regions.
  • Establish service benchmarks and customer engagement strategies across all customer touchpoints (retail, digital, events).
  • Ensure a consistent and premium brand image across stores nationwide.

Operations and Expansion

  • Oversee national retail operations including logistics, visual merchandising, inventory control, and store planning.
  • Lead site selection strategy for new store openings and supervise major refurbishments or closures.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including labor, safety, and commercial operations.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop direct-report teams of Area Managers and partner with cross-functional department heads for regional culture initiatives.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through continuous coaching, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Uphold the brand's culture and values at a national level, ensuring alignment across all staff.
  • Full P&L responsibility for the country; manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor cost efficiency and drive initiatives to improve profitability and reduce operational waste.
  • Partner with finance to ensure accurate financial controls, audits, and compliance with corporate guidelines.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison between the national market and corporate headquarters.
  • Represent the brand in media, industry events, or government relations when necessary.
  • Collaborate with global leadership teams on product development, marketing, and strategic direction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in retail, with at least 5 in a senior leadership or country-level role.
  • Proven track record of delivering business growth and leading diverse, multi-site teams.
  • Experience in managing full P&L responsibilities.
  • Deep understanding of luxury or premium retail markets, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities; fluent in English (additional languages advantageous).
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the country and occasionally internationally.
