Job summary

Dechra is seeking a Buyer / Category Procurement Specialist to support the API sub-category across global sites. You will assist in delivering procurement strategies, working with cross-functional teams to ensure supply security and cost optimisation.

The role combines strategic sourcing with hands-on supplier negotiations in a hybrid Manchester-based setting. The ideal candidate will have GMP/pharmaceutical procurement experience, strong knowledge of ERP systems, and the ability to collaborate

Qualifications

• Experience as a procurement professional in Pharmaceuticals or GMP products.
• Knowledge of procurement systems and best practices.
• Experience with multi-site ERP systems.
• Ability to build strong external and internal supplier relations.
• Team player with international collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Category Manager in global sourcing strategy for the APIs sub-category.
• Manage portfolio of suppliers across sites and lead negotiations.
• Lead RFIs, RFQs, supplier evaluations and due diligence.
• Provide KPI reporting and drive SRM across key contracts.
• Identify opportunities for cost and process improvements while mitigating risk.
