We have an opportunity to join the Anticoagulant Team at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital. We are looking for a qualified nurse to work 27 hours per week over the four days Tuesday to Friday. The post holder will mainly be based at Luton but may be required to work at Bedford if necessary. The post is for a Band 6 or a Band 7 depending on experience. The Band 7 post holder must have a Non-Medical prescribing qualification. There is an opportunity for the Band 6 post holder to progress to a Band 7 once the Non-Medical prescribing qualification has been achieved.
The successful applicant will be involved in the day to day management of patients’ anticoagulant care. Full training will be given.

The successful candidate will be involved in the day to day management of the anticoagulant clinics. This involves face to face and telephone consultations. This can involve initiation and discontinuation of anticoagulants and the dosing of warfarin / sinthrome. You will be expected to follow NICE Guidelines in relation to follow up treatment, and consult with appropriate health care professionals as necessary.
