Job description

Job Description

Role overview

Our client is a world leader in antibody drug discovery and development. This is a unique opportunity to join the Antibody Discovery team working with cutting-edge technologies to help shape the delivery of next-generation antibody therapeutics.

This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic team of scientists developing and validating new sequence-based and structure-based antibody design approaches, including hit identification, sequence optimisation, and in silico de novo antibody design. It is a laboratory-based position requiring detailed knowledge of molecular biology and microbiological methods, with a proven track record in antibody discovery or protein engineering as a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the discovery of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies to support the pipeline and benefit patients with serious diseases.
  • Utilise cutting-edge yeast display techniques for discovering and optimising human antibodies aligned with therapeutic targets.
  • Design, construct, and perform selections using bespoke synthetic display libraries to support in silico de novo antibody discovery and optimisation projects.
  • Prepare next-generation sequencing (NGS) libraries and analyse data to support antibody discovery and engineering of lead molecules.
  • Collaborate with computational and CADD scientists to develop and apply AI/Deep learning solutions and structure-based approaches for high-quality antibody engineering.
  • Develop and implement new methodologies in antibody display and engineering.
  • Work across project teams to ensure timely delivery of results.
  • Present experimental data at cross-functional meetings.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in molecular biology and protein biochemistry, ideally within the antibody space.
  • Experience with in vitro display libraries for discovery, affinity maturation, or other protein engineering, preferably with structure or deep sequence-guided insight.
  • Experience with biochemical techniques such as flow cytometry, surface plasmon resonance, or Bio-layer interferometry.
  • Skills in informatic and computational platforms, including molecular visualisation and NGS data analysis, are advantageous.
  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail and critical data analysis skills.
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines and communicate effectively.
