Overview
REPORTS TO: Anti-Human Trafficking Crisis and Intake Specialist
SUPERVISES: None.
STATUS: Non-Exempt.
SCHEDULE: Part-time. Must be available to be on-call for human trafficking emergencies as scheduled.
FUNCTION: This position is responsible for responding to hotline and crisis response requests as part of a 24-hour emergency on-call schedule.
Responsibilities
DUTIES:
- Support provision of emergency response and short-term comprehensive care for domestic and LPR victims of sex and labor trafficking identified by law enforcement, through court programming, social services, health providers, and other victims.
- Serve as an initial point of contact and emergency responder for victim services at The Salvation Army.
- Field hotline calls and implement responses.
- Provide rotating 24-hour emergency response and comprehensive initial case management/intake.
- Assess immediate needs and conduct intakes.
- Assist with coordination with the Child Advocacy Center, law enforcement, Child Welfare, Juvenile Court, Off the Streets, Municipal Court, Probation Services, and other organizations to support victims in leaving trafficking situations and receiving needed services.
- Utilize Salvation Army and other resources to meet victims' immediate needs, including safe temporary housing, clothing, food, medical and mental health care.
- Develop safety and service plans in coordination with victims.
- Provide limited-time shelter-based or home-based case management to help clients achieve goals outlined in their service plans, including but not limited to housing, legal assistance, law enforcement collaboration, employment, counseling, and benefits linkage.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes.
- Complete reports promptly.
• Participate in other service programming as needed.
• Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree in social service field; coursework in social work or related fields preferred.
- Experience working with victims of human trafficking preferred; experience with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault required.
- Successfully obtain and maintain driving privileges per The Salvation Army insurance standards, including access to a personal vehicle and insurance coverage for transportation related to this position. Mileage reimbursement will be provided where appropriate.
- Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
