Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse for a fixed-term maternity-cover role based at the Diabetes Centre, King Edward VII Hospital, Windsor. Qualifications
- Specialist antenatal diabetes care for pregnant people with pre-existing or gestational diabetes.
- Support insulin pump therapy including hybrid closed-loop systems.
- Deliver structured, individualised education on safe system use and carbohydrate counting.
- Work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team across Diabetes Centre and community services.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist antenatal diabetes care in the antenatal pathway with maternity colleagues.
- Assess, initiate, optimise and review insulin pump therapy and pump data.
- Offer education on pump use, sick-day management and glucose data interpretation.
