Job description

Central Basildon PCN are currently looking for a highly skilled ANP to join the dynamic team at Langdon Hills Medical Centre to help support our drive to support our frail elderly patients at the practice, as well as provide minor illness and chronic disease care as part of the newer ways of working in conjunction with our PCN and the integrated neighbourhood team. The role is for 16 hours per week, ideally across two working days . This is a locum position and working on a self-employed basis, the salary is £60,000 per annum (pro rata), which equates to approximately £2,100 PCM for the specified hours. If the individual prefers to be employed, please note that National Insurance and pension contributions would need to be deducted from the monthly budget.

Main duties of the job
  • Delivering a high standard of patient care, using advanced, autonomous clinical skills and a broad, in-depth, theoretical knowledge-base;
  • Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients conditions, initiating direct referrals, as appropriate;
  • Providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues;
  • Developing innovative concepts, models, methods and practices, to help deliver improved primary care to our practice population;
  • Advancing patient health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills;
  • As an independent prescriber: to prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication, as defined by current legislative framework;
  • Leading and undertaking research and audits;
  • Providing leadership, education and training to different healthcare professionals, staff and students;
  • As a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.

You will be holding a contract with Basildon Health Ltd on behalf of Central Basildon Primary Care Network (PCN). Our PCN is a collaborative group made up of nine GP practices, collectively serving a population of approximately 51,000 patients. The practices within our network have come together with a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes and delivering high-quality, coordinated care. By working collaboratively, we are able to enhance the range of services offered, share resources and expertise, and implement innovative healthcare initiatives tailored to the needs of our local population. Qualifications
  • be a registered general practice nurse, holding current registration with the NMC
  • hold a recognised ANP qualification at master's level
  • hold an independent prescriber qualification
