Job Description

We are looking for an experiencedSpine Animatorto create high-quality 2D skeletal animations for game characters, promotional videos, and more. This role requires proficiency with Spine software and strong skills in character breakdowns, inbetweening, and animation creation. The ideal candidate should ensure smooth character movements and expressive facial animations that adhere to realistic physics principles. Experience in the animation or gaming industry is essential, along with familiarity with Spine’s rigging and animation workflows. A passion for anime and otaku culture, plus strong teamwork and communication skills, are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Break down character artwork in Spine as needed, with some capability for illustration and inbetweening.
• Use Spine to create 2D skeletal animations, including idle and complex movement animations based on layered artwork (e.g., character illustrations or cards). Produce in-game animation effects, promotional animations, and character animations. Animations should follow realistic motion physics and show expressive facial movements.
• Create and optimize Spine animations based on requirements.
• Rig skeletons and keyframe animations using Spine.
• Create facial expressions and character movements for mesh-based characters, including implementing physical effects like accessory movement and hair dynamics.

Requirements

• Experience working in animation or gaming companies, with proficiency in Spine and digital painting software.
• Familiarity with complex Spine workflows including asset preparation, rigging, animation, and export processes.
• Strong understanding of motion physics and high creative capability.
• Ability to clean up character art, create skeletal rigs, and make structural adjustments.
• Illustration skills and strong grasp of animation principles and dynamic movement.
• Passion for anime and anime-style mobile games, with experience playing mainstream titles.
• Strong sense of responsibility and excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Salary & Benefits

• Daily Allowance: £15/day (for in-office workdays)
• Annual Leave: 23 days + UK statutory Bank Holidays
