Job summary
West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds is seeking an enthusiastic Technician Demonstrator for the Animal Studies team to deliver practical sessions from Level 1 to Level 3. You will support learners to develop vocational and practical skills through teaching, assessment, and work-related experiences in our Animal Centre.
Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, health and safety checks, record-keeping, administering medication, enrichment programmes, and supporting learner placements while
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification (or higher) in an animal-related field.
- Professional animal handling skills.
- At least 1 year of relevant industry experience with animals.
- Experience with diverse animal collection is desirable.
- Teaching/training and learner development experience would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging practical sessions across Level 1–3.
- Support learners to develop vocational and practical skills.
- Care for animals, including feeding, cleaning and welfare checks.
- Maintain records and resources, administer medication as required.
- Develop and implement enrichment programmes.
- Support learner placements and liaise with veterinary professionals.
