Animal Management Technician (Education Role)

24,710 - 28,318 + 37 hour week + Pension + Company Benefits + Progression

Are you an experienced Animal Management Technician looking for a Monday to Friday role in a brand new, purpose-built animal facility?

The college has invested heavily in its new animal management facility and has a strong reputation for delivering exceptional teaching and learner support. They are now seeking an Animal Management Technician with hands-on experience working with a variety of species to join their team.


On offer is a varied role where you will help care for a wide range of animals including small mammals and/or exotics, with experience in large animals, aquatics, or dog grooming being highly desirable. You will also support the animal management team with the organisation, planning, and smooth running of the provision, liaising with learners, lecturers, and staff to ensure the highest standards of animal welfare.


This role would suit someone with animal handling experience who is passionate about working in education and is looking for a stable, Monday to Friday position. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as travel between sites is required.


The Role:

  • Caring for and maintaining a range of animals including small mammals, exotics, and potentially large animals, aquatics, and dog grooming
  • Supporting lecturers and learners in the animal management provision
  • Organising and maintaining facilities to the highest welfare and safety standards
  • 37 hours per week, full time, permanent

The Person:

  • Previous experience working with animals in a similar role is essential
  • Experience with small mammals and/or exotics (large animals, aquatics, and dog grooming desirable)
  • Organised, with strong communication skills to work effectively with staff and learners
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
