Activate Learning is seeking an Animal Management Technician to oversee the welfare of livestock and maintain high standards in our facilities. This position is ideal for individuals with a deep passion for animal care and a level 3 qualification in animal management. You'll work within an educational group known for excellence in animal management, providing a supportive and enriching environment for both students and staff.
About the role:
As an Animal Management Technician you will be responsible for the day to day welfare of the livestock; ensuring animal welfare is paramount and in accordance with current legislation. This will also include, maintaining a high standards of cleanliness through the animal facility and support in the maintenance and care of animal stocks and facilities, ensuring that animals have sufficient food and water or catering to special dietary requirements if needed.
Banbury and Bicester College is a centre of excellence in Animal Management and our students benefit from working directly with a variety of animals include aquatics, avians including rare breed poultry, invertebrates, reptiles, a range of mammals including rabbits, marmosets and golden Guernsey goats.
What do you need to be a successful Animal Management Technician at Activate Learning?
You will have a minimum level 3 qualification in animal management and experience of working within the animal industry. This would include experience of handling a variety of animal species; i.e. companion animals, birds, fish or exotics species (snakes, lizards, amphibians, invertebrates), along with evidence of managing health and safety in the workplace.
