A leading education provider in the South-East is seeking a full-time Animal Management Lecturer. This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching in Veterinary Nursing and related fields, supporting students in their learning journey. This Animal Management Lecturer role is full-time, working 37 hours per week, reporting directly to the Head of Department. The primary purpose of the role is to provide exceptional teaching and assessment experiences to students, enabling them to maximize their potential. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering educational content, assessing student performance, and fostering a conducive learning environment.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing teaching, learning, and assessment strategies, participating in student interviews, enrolment, and induction, preparing detailed schemes of work and lesson plans, and providing continuous assessment and feedback.
Candidates must have a background in Veterinary Nursing, Animal Biology, and Animal Health, as these are the subject areas to be delivered. Experience working with a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, small mammals, and exotic mammals/ectotherms, is required.
Experience within an Accredited Animal Collection or organization such as a Zoo, Wildlife/Animal Park, Animal Rescue, or Veterinary Practice is beneficial, preferably UK-based, with knowledge of UK legislation and animal management in captivity.
The role also involves offering academic support, preparing students for assessments, maintaining accurate records, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in college activities such as parents' evenings and marketing events.
