Job Title: Animal Laboratory Technician/Crab Bleeder (Bulk Hiring)

Location: Salisbury, MD, 21801

Duration: 4 months

Pay rate: $17 - $18/hr on W2 AI

Notes:

• Pay rate of $18 per hour for college graduates and $17 per hour for non-graduates.
• Positions involve handling and collecting blood from horseshoe crabs and processing the blood in a laboratory setting. Training on SOPs, cGMPs, aseptic processing, and disinfecting techniques will be provided.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, starting at 5:30 AM until completion, typically between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM. Will work 4 out of 5 days.

Primary Role Responsibilities:

• Assist with horseshoe crab blood collection per SOPs, including setting up, preparing, aseptically collecting blood, and cleaning/disinfecting the area.
• Assist in blood processing, including centrifuging, pipetting, sonication, solution prep, and cleaning/disinfecting.
• Aseptically handle collection bottles in bio-safety cabinets.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and timely as per SOPs.
• Maintain and clean production equipment.
• Tag crabs with US Fish & Wildlife tags.

Skill and Education Requirements:

• 1-2 years experience in a production environment or high school diploma.
• Ability to follow written procedures thoroughly.
• Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
• Teamwork and computer skills.

Working Conditions:

• Varies from laboratory to crab holding areas.
• Overtime may be required.
• Long periods of standing, heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), repetitive motions, and chemical exposure.
• Daily cleaning with disinfectants; those with sensitivities should consider this.
