Job description
Overview

Based at Brown Street Kennels, Dundee, you will be part of a team within City Development responsible for the efficient operation of Brown Street Kennels. You will provide cover for holidays and sick leave and predominantly be required to work at weekends, with the following hours: Saturday 08:30 to 13:45; Sunday 10:30 to 13:30; single public holidays 10:30 to 13:30; multiple public holidays 08:30 to 13:15 as required. If required during the week, hours may be Monday to Friday 08:36 to 16:30 depending on staffing levels required. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation on Brown Street Kennels to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work.

Requirements

You will have a good general education.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the efficient carrying out of duties in connection with the care of the dogs at Brown Street Kennels.
The Individual
  • Have some experience working with dogs/animals in a closed environment.
  • Experience in working with members of the public face to face and in possible confrontational/awkward situations.
  • Have good oral communication, numeracy and interpersonal skills.
  • Have confidence in dealing with dogs along with good cleaning and timekeeping skills.
  • Be available to work at short notice, particularly weekends/public holidays.
