Job summary

Engine by Starling in London, England is seeking an Android engineer to help shape the next generation of banking apps. You will contribute to the Android app and internal tooling, building new features in a modular, testable way.

You will work with a collaborative, ambitious team across the bank and partner teams, using Kotlin, Compose and a modern Android tech stack. The role offers hybrid working and a strong focus on quality and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Solid experience building Android apps at scale.
• Strong focus on accessibility and maintainable code.
• Familiar with Espresso and JUnit testing.
• Experience with modern Android toolchain (Kotlin, Compose, Coroutines).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Android app and internal tooling.
• Build new features and products from scratch in a configurable way.
• Share knowledge and contribute to learning culture.
• Own projects and deliver in small teams with other engineers.
• Collaborate with QA and ensure testing before production.
