Job summary

The Engine in the United Kingdom is seeking an Android engineer to join a security‑minded, accessibility‑focused mobile team. You’ll report to a mobile lead, ship new screens daily, and contribute to SDKs used across international projects, including banking apps for partners.

You’ll work with modern tech like Dagger, Realm, Retrofit, Coil, Compose and Coroutines, write tests with Espresso and JUnit, and collaborate with designers and QA to deliver high‑quality, accessible experiences.

Qualifications

• Proficient Android development with modern Kotlin stack.
• Experience writing and maintaining UI tests (Espresso) and unit tests (JUnit).
• Familiarity with DI (Dagger), networking (Retrofit), and modern Android UI (Compose).
• Knowledge of accessibility and internationalisation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Android app and internal tooling.
• Build features and new screens in a configurable way.
• Share knowledge and mentor teammates across the squad.
