What you’ll be doing

• Contributing to the development and improvement of our native shared codebase and toolchain. Our technology produces an SDK and white-label Android applications tailored to client needs.
• Supporting product and technology improvements, refactoring, and testing enhancements. Working on new app designs and mobile products.
• Contributing to the mobile team’s performance by participating in planning, proposing ideas, and sharing knowledge.
• Operating autonomously within the team by managing tasks and growing your domain expertise.
• Sharing knowledge and best practices with the Mobile and Technology teams.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Android development using Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with native Android development and version control systems (Git, Jenkins).
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux command line.
• Willingness to use Kotlin Compose and knowledge of UX best practices.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Experience with TDD and BDD, and working with security-sensitive technology.

Preferred (not essential):

• Experience supporting hybrid mobile development tools.
• Experience with Android behavioral testing and power-efficient coding.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with libraries, APIs, DI frameworks, and microelectronics or Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Additional details:

• Typical hours are 9am–5.30pm, with occasional flexibility.
• Reporting to the Lead Android Engineer.
• Remote work with occasional team meetups in Sheffield, UK.
• UK residency and right to work required.
• This is not a management role.
• Interviews conducted virtually, with possible in-person final interview.
