What you’ll be doing
- Contributing to the development and improvement of our native shared codebase and toolchain. Our technology produces an SDK and white-label Android applications tailored to client needs.
- Supporting product and technology improvements, refactoring, and testing enhancements. Working on new app designs and mobile products.
- Contributing to the mobile team’s performance by participating in planning, proposing ideas, and sharing knowledge.
- Operating autonomously within the team by managing tasks and growing your domain expertise.
- Sharing knowledge and best practices with the Mobile and Technology teams.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Android development using Kotlin and Java.
- Experience with native Android development and version control systems (Git, Jenkins).
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux command line.
- Willingness to use Kotlin Compose and knowledge of UX best practices.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Experience with TDD and BDD, and working with security-sensitive technology.
Preferred (not essential):
- Experience supporting hybrid mobile development tools.
- Experience with Android behavioral testing and power-efficient coding.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with libraries, APIs, DI frameworks, and microelectronics or Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Additional details:
- Typical hours are 9am–5.30pm, with occasional flexibility.
- Reporting to the Lead Android Engineer.
- Remote work with occasional team meetups in Sheffield, UK.
- UK residency and right to work required.
- This is not a management role.
- Interviews conducted virtually, with possible in-person final interview.
