- Supporting product and technology improvements, refactoring, and testing enhancements. This includes building proof-of-concepts, exploring new app designs, and developing new mobile products.
- Enhancing the performance of the Mobile Team. Participate in planning, propose ideas, and contribute to team-wide task breakdowns and documentation.
- Developing autonomous working skills within the team. Manage loosely defined tasks and deepen your domain knowledge.
- Sharing knowledge and best practices within the Mobile and wider Technology Team.
Sound good? We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Proficiency in Android programming with Kotlin and Java.
- Significant experience in native Android development.
- Experience with Version Control (Git) and automated build systems (Jenkins).
- Unix/Linux command line experience.
- Willingness to use Kotlin Compose and knowledge of UX best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills.
- Experience with BDD, TDD, and code refactoring for testability.
- Experience with privacy and security-related technology.
- Understanding of unit and behavioral testing.
- Professional mindset and self-sufficiency.
Preferred but not essential experience:
- Supporting non-mobile developers with hybrid mobile development tools (Cordova, ReactNative, Flutter).
- Experience with Android behavioral testing and power-efficient background code.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Building libraries, frameworks, and APIs.
- Understanding of Dependency Injection frameworks.
- Experience with microelectronics or Bluetooth Low Energy devices.
We value experience, skills, passion, and cultural fit. Even if you don’t meet all criteria, if you’re enthusiastic and eager to learn, we want to hear from you. We embrace diversity and the benefits of a broad skillset and positive attitude.
What’s in it for you?
- Opportunity to shape a growing business and make a positive impact.
- Flexible working and leave options.
- Benefits focused on your development and wellbeing.
Additional practical details:
- Working hours are typically 9am – 5.30pm, with occasional flexibility needed for our US and European clients.
- Part of the Technology Team, reporting to the Lead Android Engineer.
- Fully remote work, with occasional team meetings in Sheffield, UK.
- Must be a UK resident for tax purposes and authorized to work in the UK.
- This is not a management role.
- Interviews are virtual, with potential for in-person final interviews.
