What you’ll be doing

• Contributing to the development and improvement of our native shared codebase and toolchain. Our technology produces SDKs and white-label Android apps tailored for clients.
• Supporting product and technology improvements, refactoring, and testing. Working on new tech, proof-of-concepts, and new app designs.
• Enhancing the performance of the Mobile Team. Participating in planning, proposing ideas, and sharing knowledge.
• Developing autonomous work skills. Refining tasks and growing domain knowledge.
• Sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android development.
• Experience with native Android development.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, UNIX/Linux.
• Willingness to use Kotlin Compose and UX best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with BDD, TDD, and security-sensitive technology.
• Understanding of testing and code quality.

Preferred but not essential

• Experience with hybrid mobile tools, Android testing, or low power background code.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with libraries, APIs, DI, microelectronics, Bluetooth LE.

Additional details

• Hours: 9am–5:30pm, with occasional flexibility.
• Reports to the Lead Android Engineer.
• Remote work, occasional team meetups in Sheffield.
• UK residency and right to work required.
• This is not a management role.
• Interviews conducted virtually, possible in-person final interview.
