What you’ll be doing
- Contributing to the development and improvement of our native shared codebase and toolchain. Our technology produces SDKs and white-label Android applications tailored to client needs.
- Supporting product and technology improvements, refactoring, and testing. Working on new app designs and mobile products.
- Enhancing team performance. Participating in planning, proposing ideas, and sharing knowledge.
- Developing autonomous working skills. Managing tasks from definition to completion and deepening domain knowledge.
- Sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android development.
- Experience with native Android development.
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI tools (Jenkins).
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux command line.
- Willingness to use Kotlin Compose and understanding of UX principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and English fluency.
- Experience with BDD/TDD and security-sensitive technologies.
- Understanding of testing frameworks and code quality.
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience supporting hybrid mobile tools (Cordova, ReactNative, Flutter).
- Experience with Android behavioral testing and power-efficient background code.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in building libraries, APIs, and understanding DI frameworks.
- Experience with microelectronics or Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Additional details:
- Typical hours: 9am – 5.30pm, with occasional flexibility.
- Reporting to the Lead Android Engineer.
- Remote work with occasional team gatherings in Sheffield, UK.
- UK residency and right to work required.
- This is not a management role.
- Interviews conducted virtually, with possible in-person final interview.
