What you’ll be doing

• Contributing to the development and improvement of our native shared codebase and toolchain. Our technology produces SDKs and white-label Android applications tailored to client needs.
• Supporting product and technology improvements, refactoring, and testing. Working on new app designs and mobile products.
• Enhancing team performance. Participating in planning, proposing ideas, and sharing knowledge.
• Developing autonomous working skills. Managing tasks from definition to completion and deepening domain knowledge.
• Sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android development.
• Experience with native Android development.
• Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI tools (Jenkins).
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux command line.
• Willingness to use Kotlin Compose and understanding of UX principles.
• Strong interpersonal skills and English fluency.
• Experience with BDD/TDD and security-sensitive technologies.
• Understanding of testing frameworks and code quality.

Preferred but not essential:

• Experience supporting hybrid mobile tools (Cordova, ReactNative, Flutter).
• Experience with Android behavioral testing and power-efficient background code.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in building libraries, APIs, and understanding DI frameworks.
• Experience with microelectronics or Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Additional details:

• Typical hours: 9am – 5.30pm, with occasional flexibility.
• Reporting to the Lead Android Engineer.
• Remote work with occasional team gatherings in Sheffield, UK.
• UK residency and right to work required.
• This is not a management role.
• Interviews conducted virtually, with possible in-person final interview.
