About the job

The Ancillary Revenue Assistantsupports a key role in ensuring access to South Western Railway car parks and taxi ranks is managed efficiently and effectively.

The postholder will ensure processes and procedures forcomplimentary or exceptional access to car parks are managed correctly and that staff and other users are able to use our car parks freely where the business has identified they are entitled to do so.

The role is alsoresponsible for ensuring anyone gaining access for multiple vehicles is charged appropriately, protecting valuable revenue to the business.

Theresponsibilities of this role ensure the business is supporting colleagues and contractors in their ability to park to ensure a safe and reliable railway can be operated by allowing suitable access to our car parks.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Maintain a positive relationship with ANPR supplier, conduct periodic meetings with Ancillary Revenue Manager & Car Park & Taxi Enforcement Manager to raise issues or faults with supplier and ensure supplier SLAs are adhered to.
  • Manage station taxi permit applications using supplier portal, including working with Ancillary Revenue Manager & Car Park & Taxi Enforcement Manager to develop proposals for changes to permit pricing.
  • Process car park access requests from Network Rail, contractors or other prospective users, decision making on accepting or rejecting applications.
  • Maintain ANPR supplier portal to ensure contractors and tenants at stations are given relevant access to station car parks.
  • Managestaff parking requests to ensure policies and procedures are correctly applied, considering commercial and IR impact of deviations from policy. Ensure staff leavers are removed from Portal.
  • Process POs and Invoices for NR and external contractors in relation to car park usage.
  • Handle customer complaints in relation to car parking received from Customer Service Centre, including decision making on cancellation of Penalty Notices where determined as appropriate.
  • Maintain high level knowledge of car park locations, capacity and facilities through site visits and maintaining relevant databases.
  • Provide cover for the Car Park & Taxi Enforcement Manager when required, including meetings with suppliers, report creation, handling staff and manager escalations.
  • Process staff parking permits for Network Rail managed stations and maintain a positive relationship with Network Rail to ensure efficient and effective processing.
  • Support the Car Park & Taxi Enforcement manager in improving enforcement rates across SWR car parks, including visiting sites across the network when required.
  • Support the wider Ancillary Revenue team with other tasks as and when required.

You'll need:

  • Ability to work using own initiative and judgement, but also confident to work collaboratively across team.
  • Competent using and learning a variety of different IT systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel across the SWR network within normal office hours.
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines.
  • Detail oriented and thorough.
  • Motivated and self-driven.

About the location

South Western Railways HQ is based on the 4th Floor at South Bank Central, a stone's throw from the River Thames and a 10 minute walk from our busiest station, Waterloo. It is local to many well-known attractions, restaurants and retail facilities and is easily accessible by public transport.

Working pattern

You will work an average of 37 hours per week, typically, Monday to Friday, office hours.
