Job summary

University of Sheffield seeks an Anatomy Demonstrator to support the MBChB programme within the School of Medicine & Population Health. You will facilitate undergraduate anatomy teaching, use various resources, and help ensure high-quality delivery within the Medical Teaching Unit.

The role requires teaching on Mondays and Tuesdays during term time, adherence to HTA and safety policies, and collaboration with senior staff. A teaching qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree(s) in anatomy or medicine and teaching experience in undergraduate anatomy.
• Availability to teach on Mondays (1300–1600) and Tuesdays (1000–1200, 1400–1600) during term time.
• Experience of teaching anatomy to undergraduate students.
• Excellent teaching skills evidenced by feedback, awards or certificates.
• Knowledge of Human Tissue Act 2004 requirements and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
• Organisational skills and ability to undertake administrative duties.
• Clinical experience and postgraduate exams (e.g. MRCS Part A, MRCEM Primary).
• Teaching qualification (PGCME/PGDip/Masters) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver anatomy teaching within the Medical Teaching Unit for undergraduates.
• Facilitate small group learning using various teaching resources.
• Develop skills in new teaching resources and ultrasonographic anatomy.
• Plan and prioritise daily work and prepare for anatomy practical sessions.
• Provide administrative support to the Medical School and University.
• Carry out other duties commensurate with grade and remit.
