Job summary

NHS Professionals is recruiting an Anatomical Pathology Technician for Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. You will be part of the Mortuary Department, providing mortuary services and autopsy support with a compassionate approach to bereaved families.

Day-to-day duties include liaising with the Trust, HM Coroner, Undertakers and external agencies, and delivering neuropathology autopsy services in collaboration with clinical teams. The role offers bank/flex shifts and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• RSPH Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Science (APT) required.
• Post-Mortem/Hospital experience or equivalent.
• Experience working with the bereaved.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Trust colleagues, HM Coroner, Undertakers and external agencies to provide a caring mortuary service.
• Work closely with Salford Royal Hospital, Salford City Council and HM Coroner Manchester West to provide storage services.
• Provide autopsy and specialist neuropathology autopsy services.
• Provide a caring and empathetic environment for bereaved relatives, with collaboration from trust bereavement team.

Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00
