Job description

Job Description

Are you passionate about data & analytics, and want to help us build a data-driven culture for community engagement and digital product development at the LEGO Group?

Come and help us build a robust performance measurement and continuous improvement practice for our ecosystem of LEGO communities and play a critical part in our ambition to build direct and lasting relationships with millions of LEGO fans around the world!

There is no relocation support offered for this role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead a program to evaluate the effectiveness of community management and moderation across various consumer-facing experiences, focusing on enhancing brand love, engagement, and growth.

  • Collaborate with the Community Management & Moderation team, Global Marketing Performance team, digital product teams, marketing and analytics leads to develop a "Community Impact Measurement Framework," establishing targets and measurement plans for fan engagement across social media and owned communities.

  • Design and implement monthly and quarterly reporting processes to assess performance trends, analyse community management initiatives, and recommend improvements based on which tactics drive the most value.

  • Transform raw data into actionable insights, serving as a "data storyteller" to present findings to senior leadership.

  • Define the need for dashboards and self-serve reporting capabilities for different user groups, leading the development of a suite of reports (via PowerBI and/or similar data visualisation tools).

  • Work with a cross-functional data and analytics team to create structured, accessible data sources for reporting and analysis using SQL on Databricks.

  • Play a leading role in a cross-functional data and analytics network within the LEGO Group, ensuring alignment on core metrics and fostering collaboration to share best practices.

  • Maintain an external-in focus, by exploring new methodologies, data sources, and insight partners that will enable us to get a more holistic view of audiences, fan communities and effective engagement strategies.

Play your part in our team succeeding!

The Data, Analytics & Business Improvement team is an analytics and continuous improvement practice within the LEGO Group’s Digital Consumer Engagement (DCE) function. Our focus is on establishing two-way, long lasting and meaningful relationships with our consumers and shoppers, and we believe that the ethical, transparent, and effective use of consumer data is key to this ambition.

For this role we are seeking an experienced analytics specialist who is comfortable working in a matrixed and cross-functional organisation. Being able to influence multiple teams and collaborators will be key, as will the ability to balance detailed hands-on analysis with generating unexpected insights and creating compelling narratives designed to inspire action in the business.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Significant background in marketing, community engagement or product development context (games or digital products) with the ability to drive business actions through consumer behaviour analysis.

  • Analytics experience focused on social communities and measuring “fandoms” across social media, owned, and co-branded experiences is highly advantageous.

  • Proven experience in hypothesis-driven research by identifying key assumptions behind growth drivers and validating them through comprehensive analysis of various data sources.

  • Practical experience transforming raw, unstructured data into actionable insights and recommendations, proficient in various analytics tools and methodologies, and skilled in creating impactful data visualizations for senior business partners.

  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and testing core growth assumptions through comprehensive analysis of diverse data sources.

  • Experience performing analysis on large data sets in a Big Data platform (i.e. Databricks or a similar platform) – Comfortable with SQL is crucial, as well as exposure to social media or creator analytics tools (e.g. Sprinklr, Brandwatch, CreatorIQ or similar)

  • Power BI and ideally one of Python or R is beneficial

  • Proven project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects across multiple teams and fostering collaborative relationships across a matrix organisation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting to and engaging partners, including developing business cases and investment models for internal agreement.

  • The ability to travel frequently to our Slough office.
