Job summary

GMCA is seeking an Analytics Engineer to shape the data infrastructure and analytical products that support education, work and skills decisions across Greater Manchester. You will design and build pipelines, data models and reporting products from providers, local authorities and government data sources, leveraging SQL Server, Python, APIs, Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineer who builds reliable data infrastructure and reporting products.
• Proficient with SQL Server, data modelling and ETL; comfortable automating with Python.
• Experience leading or supervising others and communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and build pipelines, data models and reporting products from raw data to insight.
• Lead a small team of data officers and set priorities.
• Act as technical lead for the GMCA data tracker and manage integrations with the broader reporting environment.
