Job summary

Currys plc in the UK is recruiting an Analytics Engineer to join the AI & Monetisation function. Based in Waterloo with hybrid working, you’ll own end-to-end analytics domains, build trusted data models, and ship dashboards that influence the P&L.

You’ll bring strong SQL, dbt expertise, and experience with Snowflake/Databricks, Looker or similar BI tools, and collaborate across teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a data analyst or analytics engineer role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics or related technical field highly desirable.
• dbt & Analytics platform certification beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dbt models transforming raw data into trusted datasets for analytics.
• Implement data quality tests and monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Optimize query performance with data modelling and materialisation strategies.
• Establish and maintain documentation and data dictionaries for models and metrics.
• Support self-service analytics by building reusable data models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into solutions.
• Collaborate with data engineers to define requirements for new data sources and pipelines.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends and anomalies in performance.
• Build dashboards and reports that empower self-service analytics.
• Design visualisations that clearly communicate data stories to technical and non-technical audiences.
