About the role
The Management Information CoE sits within Boots IT and are responsible for all Boots regular reporting, from daily updates to supporting financial month-end. We are in a period of change as we move these reports to use Azure and Power BI.

The MI team are in a unique position within Boots as we work with data from across the entire business, so attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks are important.

As an Analytics Engineer within this team, you will maintain and model the data that underpins these reports, proving its accuracy, and working with our report developers to make sure that it's fit for purpose, while also maintaining aspects of our legacy data systems until we have completely moved to Power BI. Our reports have thousands of daily users and so maintaining efficient performance is important.

You will also work with other parts of the business to understand and unlock the full potential of Boots' data.

What you'll need to have
  • Experience using Power BI to model data, whilst also being willing and capable of adapting to new tools as they're introduced.
  • Be proficient at writing SQL
  • Knowledge of data relationship concepts such as star schema
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels of the business and across functional boundaries.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities as requirements evolve.
