Job description

Ready for a challenge?

Then Just Eat Takeaway.com might be the place for you. We're a leading global online food delivery platform, and our vision is to empower everyday convenience.

Whether it's a Friday-night feast, a post-gym poke bowl, or grabbing some groceries, our tech platform connects tens of millions of customers with hundreds of thousands of restaurant, grocery, and convenience partners across the globe.

About the role

Just Eat Takeaway is looking to hire an Analytics Engineer for the Food Discovery Algorithms team, responsible for building machine learning-driven features that help our customers find restaurants and dishes they'll love. You will work in a data-driven environment as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with data scientists, product managers, analysts, and engineers to ensure the data required for our features and analytics is reliable, suitable, and easy to use.

You should be a self-starter with an interest in data, experimentation, and machine learning. While prior experience with machine learning is not required, confidence with large datasets and the ability to work collaboratively or independently to solve problems are essential.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Designing and implementing datasets using SQL-based ETL pipelines for various purposes such as training models or evaluating feature performance. Ensuring data quality, documentation, and observability for anomaly detection. Gathering requirements from product, engineering, or data science teams as needed.
  2. Contributing to the definition of product features based on your understanding of relevant data points.
What you should bring:
  • Strong SQL skills, including query optimization.
  • Experience analyzing data, understanding distributions, and statistical concepts.
  • Knowledge of data quality issues and handling missing values.
  • Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with web and app tracking implementations in customer-facing or e-commerce contexts.
  • Understanding of Cloud Services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and event-driven architectures.
