Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a technical post within the Professional Services’ Technical Services team. You will prepare laboratories, provide day-to-day technical support to staff and students, and maintain and safety-check equipment, with flexible hours around the student timetable.

The role involves manual handling and supporting analytical chemistry labs, requiring an undergraduate chemistry degree or equivalent lab experience and DBS eligibility.

• Ability to adapt knowledge and experience to support staff and students across a wide range of subject disciplines.
• Experience in preparing and supporting analytical chemistry lab environments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare laboratories for teaching.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to staff and students.
• Coordinate and perform general equipment maintenance and safety checks.
• Carry out equipment inventory updates and advise on equipment as required.
• Support laboratory activity across various areas as needed.
