Job summary

A global chemicals company is seeking an Analytical Chemist for a 6-month contract in Brimsdown, UK. The role involves analyzing samples, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining communication within the laboratory. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Chemistry and experience in Analytical Chemistry.

Salary: £18.66 per hour
Job purpose:

To analyse samples submitted using approved procedures with due regard to:

  • Required accuracy and precision
  • Required delivery times
Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Ensure work is performed at minimum cost by making efficient use of time, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure all regulations regarding Environment, Health & Safety, and security are strictly observed.
  • Attend approved training courses, complete online L&D courses, and actively participate in analytical skills training and assessment.
  • Maintain standards of housekeeping and workplace efficiency using 5S and Lean methodologies.
  • Establish and maintain communication links within and outside the Laboratory to ensure good customer service.
  • Perform any other duties within your skills and abilities as reasonably instructed.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Degree or HNC in Chemistry or a related subject, or relevant industrial experience.
  • Training and assessment in Laboratory Skills.
  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Experience in Analytical Chemistry.
  • Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO17025 standards.
