Analyst - Sustainable Finance Solutions Team

We are looking for an Analyst to join our Sustainable Finance Solutions Team in London.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Mizuho's Sustainable Finance Solutions team by developing subject matter expertise, to assist origination activities. Become familiar with the sustainable finance market backdrop across EMEA, with an understanding of sustainable financing structures as well as regulatory environment and investment trends
  • Build product knowledge, expanding knowledge of bond and loan products in support of the CIB model
  • Maintain relevant sustainable finance databases and associated content (generic slide deck, sector update slides etc.). Help provide regular sustainable finance updates for origination teams (weekly, monthly, contribution to weekly FIG update etc.)
  • Become involved in shared group workstreams, collaborating with the rest of the Primary Capital Markets team (e.g. participating in the Friday 8:30am update calls). Build healthy relationships with colleagues across Primary Capital Markets, developing a strong Mizuho network and contributing to embedding sustainable finance awareness and understanding across the wider team
  • Collaborate with relevant internal counterparties in Europe (e.g. Low-Carbon Financial Solutions, SSG) and internationally (e.g. US, Japan, Hong Kong) in order to improve information sharing within Mizuho and the exchange of ideas
  • Build collaborative relationships with coverage teams across EMEA to support their development on Sustainability topics
  • Demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude, showing drive and passion

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • High level of attention to detail
  • High level of computer literacy and skills in data manipulation / presentations
  • Dependable, with great organisational and time management skills - experience meeting deadlines and taking responsibility for output
  • Proactive, with demonstrable ability to innovate, adapt, support change and problem solve
  • Curious, with ability to develop new skills, build product knowledge and a desire to continually learn
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
