Job Description

As an Analyst, Public Markets Middle Office, Trade Capture & Support, you will support public Investment teams with transaction management, asset servicing, investment accounting, reporting and valuations. You will also oversee the day-to-day evaluation, accounting, and monitoring of relevant investment portfolios, covering all asset classes and security types.

Team Description

The Trade Capture & Support Team within Public Markets Middle Office (PMMO) is a global, cross-asset group responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of trade data across internal systems, supporting both Toronto and London offices in a “follow-the-sun” model. Acting as an extension of the trading desk, the team manages non-execution trade functions and works closely with trading desks, counterparties, custodians, and internal operations to verify, enrich, and resolve trade issues across a wide range of products including equities, fixed income, and bilateral OTC trades such as TRS and Stock Loan/Borrow. Their core function is to provide timely, accurate trade support while continuously enhancing processes and controls to ensure operational excellence. Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with Toronto & London teams to provide “follow the sun” support and ensure all assigned trades are accurately captured, enriched, and matched by prescribed cut-off times and reflected accurately in internal systems with clear daily hand-offs between regional teams
  • Work to build & maintain effective working relationship with internal investment staff and external asset managers to ensure issues are discussed and resolved and financial controls and reporting requirements are met.
  • Continually strive for operational excellence; seek ways to streamline processes and create operational efficiencies
  • Contribute to the team in striving for operational excellence, assisting in creating process documents for new processes and/or updates to existing processes.
  • Partner with technology and change teams to drive system enhancements, automation initiatives, and operational resiliency improvements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in or demonstratable knowledge of middle office operations, trade lifecycle, or settlement process
  • Strong attention to detail/accuracy while working within established
  • Direct experience with trade booking & enrichment, trade matching, and securities settlement across global markets is considered an asset
  • Experience with any of the following products is considered an asset: Listed equities and fixed income, futures, options, securities lending & borrowing, REPOs, OTC equity derivatives, OTC rates derivatives, OTC credit derivatives
  • Proven ability to structure communications, both written & verbal, to raise and resolve issues across all levels of the organisation while ensuring prescribed deadlines are met
  • Experience with any of the following applications: Murex, Simcorp, Traiana, Equilend, Bloomberg AIM, Omgeo, CTM, GTSS
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfortable learning new systems. Proficiency in coding considered an asset
  • Demonstratable interest in GenAI tools and adoption in daily tasks
