Department Description

The Management Company Accounting team ensures all financial transactions are properly identified, interpreted, analyzed and reported throughout the organization and to various external stakeholders for measurement and assessment of financial performance. The team is responsible for ensuring that resources are properly budgeted and allocated throughout the organizations by ensuring risks are properly managed and controls are sufficiently designed and that such firm investments are appropriately strategized to generate sufficient returns and distributions. The Group collaborates with all aspects of the Firm including strategic corporate investors, partners, BDIR, tax, payroll, operations, legal and compliance, and fund accounting, amongst others.


Position Description

The Management Company Accounting Analyst will be responsible for assisting controllers with the monthly close, cash reconciliations, expense accruals, financial statement preparation and various quarterly/annual projects. This involves the day to day accounting and operations for legal entities, all the way through to preparing audited financial statements at the end of the year.


Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Work closely with controllers to support monthly, quarterly and annual close process
  • Preparation of accounting entries into general ledger
  • Reconcile cash transactions
  • Recording expense accruals
  • Work closely with controllers and external auditors through the preparation and execution of financial statements
  • Roll forwards and analysis of key account balances on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of regulatory filings for submission to respective international regulatory bodies
  • Research relevant accounting pronouncements and regulatory rules on an as needed basis
  • Prepare various forecasts and ad hoc analysis on an as needed basis for firmwide stakeholders
  • Enhance and automate reporting capabilities of company's general ledger
  • Assist with all accounting and operations for the firm's rapidly growing CLO business
  • Manage investor commitment schedules to capture business activities
Candidate Profile
  • CPA license preferred
  • Big 4 public accounting firm experience preferred
  • 2 to 5 years' experience in relevant jobs
  • Financial services industry experience, asset management preferred
  • Experience with Workday general ledger and/or Workiva a plus
  • Experience with technology enhancements and implementations a plus
  • Strong analytical and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel; Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
