Job summary

ALS Coventry is seeking a Laboratory Analyst Grade 3 to support the Organics department. You will perform analyses on samples using GC, GCMS and LC methods, and work with senior analysts to ensure timely, accurate results and compliance with procedures.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and good teamwork. Hours are 37 per week, Wednesday to Sunday, 08:00–16:00, with a full-time permanent contract and a starting salary of £26,878.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs at Grade C (or new Grade 4) including Science, Maths and English.
• A level or equivalent in scientific subject, or relevant industry knowledge.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures, with a willingness to learn.
• Client-driven and focussed on meeting customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements.
• Ensure samples are completed efficiently and in line with all processes and legislation.
• Deliver on key performance indicators.

• Troubleshoot and rectify equipment issues and perform daily preventative maintenance.

Analyst - Grade 3 - Organics

ALS Laboratories are looking for a Laboratory Analyst Grade 3 to support their Organics department at ALS Coventry.

The person will be completing, to the required timescales and quality standards, the analysis of samples for a range of methods using a range of GC, GCMS and LC methods. They will work closely with the senior analysts to ensure smooth operation in the laboratory by assisting team members and training to required standards.

The right candidate will have a keen eye for detail, and be able to closely follow instructions.

Hours Per Week: 37

Days Per Week: Wednesday to Sunday (08:00 - 16:00)

Contract: Full Time and Permanent

The Day to Day

• Understand customer requirements.
