A governmental analytical team in the UK is seeking an experienced analyst to support arts sector economic analysis. Responsibilities include delivering impactful analysis, engaging stakeholders, and leveraging market intelligence. Salary: National £41,565 - £50,608 + £4,200 analyst allowance (+ Benefits). London £44,752 - £55,289 + £4,200 analyst allowance.
This role is based in the Cultural and Creative Industries Analysis team. The team is embedded within the Culture directorate. The directorate’s work includes: overseeing a number of public bodies (Arms Length Bodies), e.g. Arts Council England and our National Museums; supporting the wider cultural sectors; delivering our own policy, projects and programmes; and working with partners around Whitehall to promote the value of our sectors. The team is working to deliver the Arts Everywhere Fund, which includes £85 million to support urgent capital works to keep venues across the country up and running.

As a embedded team we work collaboratively with our policy teams and stakeholders to drive positive change, shape policy and set direction. More recently, our work has been focussed on Government’s missions, including Health, Growth and Opportunity Mission.
You will work with the Arts Principal Research Officer to support the analytical needs of the arts team, providing support in a dynamic and varied policy area.
We are looking for a highly driven analyst with strong technical skills to work on priority analytical projects. This includes analysis of the arts sectors impact on economic growth and understanding the financial resilience organisations and the arts impact on local economies.
Given the role will work across a wide range of stakeholders including policy, ALBs, consultancies, research councils, the role is suited to those with strong verbal and written communication skills, economic and econometric skills. In addition the post holder will be required to build strong stakeholder relationships with the museum and cultural property sector, influencing the use of research data and evaluation.
You should be able to work with policy officials to think strategically about the role of evidence and analysis within the wider cultural and heritage space e.g. linking up with the Culture and Heritage Capital programme.
