Harvard Business Publishing Education (HBP Education) partners with educators and learners worldwide, serving as a rich source of ideas for improving management.

The Analyst, Finance & Customer Data is a key member of the Higher Education's Finance & Business Analytics team. They bring a data-driven mindset to analysis and business insights to drive revenue growth for the HE unit. Responsibilities include building models, reports, and analyzing financial and business performance to derive actionable insights. The analyst will collaborate with senior team members and partner with the Enterprise IT, Sales, and Finance teams, supporting efforts to strengthen HE's data infrastructure and reporting ecosystem.

What you'll do

  1. Support the Finance & Business Performance team by designing sustainable approaches for capturing, manipulating, and aggregating data sources to enable consistent analysis.
  2. Promote a data-driven culture by providing accessible, actionable, and timely performance metrics and enabling self-service capabilities.
  3. Support analytics tools and backend data systems, including Tableau and Alteryx, collaborating with the Salesforce architecture team to align with data and CRM goals.
  4. Engage with the HBP analytics community to share experiences and incorporate new solutions.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders across Enterprise IT, Sales, and Finance to deliver on business and strategic initiatives, including ad-hoc analysis.
  6. Build and expand dashboards to monitor business performance, including management, sales, and strategic goal dashboards.
  7. Utilize various data sources, such as financial data, web analytics, customer records, industry research, and competitive intelligence, to support insights efforts.
  8. Translate data findings into clear actions and insights using compelling visuals, dashboards, and narratives.
  9. Develop understanding of modeling techniques to track revenue drivers and inform forecasts.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Finance, Analytics, or Business Intelligence.
  • Proficiency with SQL and other programming languages.
  • Experience in data presentation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently, and analyze business challenges across functions such as Sales, IT, and Finance.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 annually. This position includes the opportunity to earn performance-based variable pay. Salary will be determined based on factors such as market data, experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
