In this role, you will be using data to represent the voice of our readers and will be driving data-informed decision making across audience, content and product strategies on the Editorial floor and beyond.

You will combine clickstream, content and subscription data to delve into audience behaviours, using your growing expertise and influence to make recommendations that drive reader engagement, registrations and subscriptions. This role will provide a varied workload across analytics and is a great opportunity to be part of an evolving and passionate team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in our continued drive to put data at the heart of the Telegraph newsroom through the use of quality analysis and impactful data storytelling.
  • Develop relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, understanding their needs and providing timely analysis and insight to measure initiatives and identify growth opportunities.
  • Become a functional expert in the Telegraph’s content and clickstream data, providing QA support to the wider team.
  • Support data-informed decision-making by delivering clear insights and collaborating with Editorial and other teams.
  • Share knowledge within I&A and beyond and contribute to making data and insights more accessible across the business.

Requirements

  • A desire to develop your analytics expertise while sharing your growing knowledge with others across the team.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL or a strong aptitude for learning it, with the ability to extract and manipulate large, complex datasets to produce accurate and actionable insights.
  • Some experience applying data analysis to uncover insights or make evidence-based recommendations.
  • A good understanding of statistical methodologies (e.g. descriptive, diagnostic, predictive) and when to apply them effectively.
  • An interest in behavioural clickstream data and online measurement. Familiarity with content, product, CRM, or audience analytics is a plus.
  • The ability to present complex data in a clear, engaging way and to use data storytelling to influence business decisions.
  • A collaborative working style, contributing to analytics briefs and identifying appropriate methodologies in partnership with stakeholders.
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a strong drive to develop your skills and support team success.
  • Demonstrated logical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
