Job summary

日本アバカス株式会社 is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join its IT Security team in the United Kingdom. You will triage alert escalations, assist with incident handling, and collaborate with security and engineering teams across multiple platforms.

The role requires experience in security operations, SIEM, and communicating complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Applicants should be prepared for on-site work in Edinburgh and to support night/weekend shifts when needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years in a security operations or related role.
  • Degree in MIS/CS or similar, MCSE or equivalent is a plus.
  • Certifications such as CySA, Security+, Network+ are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Triaging alert escalations and assisting incident handling as needed.
  • Interact with Security, Engineering and Service teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Support MDR escalations and help improve detection and response capabilities.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to management and clients.
  • Maintain awareness of security issues in emerging technologies.
  • Scope, implement and support new security projects and initiatives.

Job description

Overview:

As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with a broad number of clients, and platforms, triaging alert escalations and incident handling when necessary. We are looking for an energetic individual who is passionate about Technology and Cybersecurity to join our growing IT Security team!

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following):
  • High interaction with the Security, Engineering and Service teams, and respond to escalated issues from our tier 1 analysts in a timely fashion
  • Respond and action escalations from our MDR provider and work with our engineering team and clients to improve detection and response capabilities whilst maintaining health and security of our platform
  • Utilize interpersonal and technical skills to effectively communicate with management, peers, and clients
  • Maintain an awareness of security and control issues in emerging technologies
  • Ability to scope, implement and support new security projects/initiatives
  • Ownership and follow up of pending issues to resolution
Skills
  • Familiarity with industry standard tools and applications (such as Rapid7, Palo Alto, SentinelOne, KnowBe4)
  • Familiarity with industry standard SIEM, Anti-Virus, Email/Spam Filtering, Asset
  • Monitoring tools. (Working knowledge with SIEM query languages, Palo Alto Panorama, SentinelOne, Nagios, Mimecast, or Proofpoint)
  • Ability to navigate and utilize a ticketing system (such as ServiceNow)
  • Experience with change management and security remediation processes
  • Experience with security documentation, technical and policy writing
  • Ability to deliver technical/security information or concepts in a user-friendly format
  • Takes ownership and excels in both independent and team project work
  • Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
  • Must have availability to occasionally work nights and weekends
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a security operations team, system engineering or
  • technical security role
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or similar focus
  • Microsoft Certified (MCSE) or equivalent certification a plus
  • Security Certificate (current or within 6 months of hire) such as; CompTIA CySA, Security+ and Network+ CISA, ISC-2 CC
