About The PositionWe have a great opportunity to join our Acquisition Finance Portfolio Management (“AF PM”) team as an Analyst, a function within ING Lending franchise in UK. This is a lending professional role within the front office. As a key member of the AF PM team, your responsibility will be to actively manage AF booked assets in the lending portfolio in the UK and optimize returns through strong analytics and capital velocity. On the team, you will be exposed to and work with different colleagues from several product and sector-based origination teams, specialized and corporate lending Transaction Management, Capital Markets & Advisory, Loan Distributions, Risk and Legal whilst aligning with back office / support teams. At the same time, the AF PM team plays a key role in further optimizing our processes for regulatory readiness, operational effectiveness and portfolio optimization.
Job Responsibilities- The AF PM team is the ‘center of excellence’ for the in-life management of ING’s Acquisition Finance lending exposures. It covers all activities post the initial funding to the final repayment of a lending transaction. As a front office department, it will closely collaborate with product and sector-based origination & structuring and corporate and specialized lending transaction management colleagues and other product specialists to ensure a seamless client experience. The PM function is organised along product and sector considerations. Each portfolio manager will cover a set of portfolio clients and act as the first point of contact for ongoing credit monitoring, analytics, internal risk, and other reporting. PM supports the identification of cross-buy opportunities and is also involved in delivering ING’s capital velocity targets. The team will be supported by Global Lending Support in Dublin and the ING hub in the Philippines. Together with Tribe Lending and the Capital and Liquidity Expertise Centre, it will be a key driver of process improvements, standardization, and digitalization across Lending.
- The specific responsibilities of an Analyst include actively managing all facets of the individual files booked in your dedicated portfolio, including but not limited to:
- Periodic credit reviews of single transactions or portfolios;
- Processing amendment and waiver requests, preparing and submitting credit modifications to Risk, and following up on legal amendments until execution;
- Reviewing annual risk rating updates prepared by ING hubs’ administrative support teams;
- Proactive credit monitoring, reviewing financial covenants and operating performance, and tracking compliance;
- Identifying and resolving Early Warning Signals for deteriorating credit quality;
- Supporting Senior Portfolio Managers in managing underperforming transactions, including restructuring and stakeholder management;
- Engaging with the AF Origination team to identify new deal opportunities;
- Participating in capital velocity initiatives like loan sales, credit risk insurance, securitizations, etc.
- You will also monitor market developments and manage their impact on your portfolio by:
- Supporting report preparation for senior management, regulators, and internal stakeholders;
- Preparing quarterly CRM portfolio reviews;
- Assisting with Watchlist and LLP Committee submissions;
- Maintaining databases, trackers, and internal metrics;
- Supporting ad hoc requests and working with offshore teams;
- Managing lending limits and capital velocity programs.
- Active participation in Virtual Client Teams by:
- Interfacing with relationship managers and sector specialists;
- Contributing to cross-buy and client opportunity ideas.
- Building a culture of operational excellence by:
- Staying updated on policies and procedures;
- Supporting strategic initiatives and process improvements;
- Participating in transformation projects.
Qualifications And CompetenciesQualifications / Education:University degree in business/economics, law, or relevant discipline. CFA and/or MBA is a plus.
Experience / Knowledge:At least 2 years in lending or credit analysis, exposure to specialized lending or real assets is a plus. Skills in financial modeling and MS Office are desirable. Fluency in French or Spanish is a plus but not essential.
