Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Public Health and Communities Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our award-winning Analytics team within the wider Knowledge, Intelligence, and Evidence team, based in the Public Health and Communities Directorate. You will be responsible for providing high-quality data and analysis to drive evidence-based decision-making. On a typical day, you might:
- Utilise your skills to produce routine and replicable reports using tools such as ‘R’.
- Design and develop visual dashboards in Power BI to provide business intelligence.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to support a wide variety of projects and analytical needs across Public Health and Communities.
- Present complex information to a variety of audiences in an understandable way.
- Support the wider Suffolk system including, health and care partners across the county.
- Your contributions will help improve outcomes across the Suffolk population in terms of health and well-being.
You will need
- Experience in an analytical/intelligence role working with large volumes of data and the ability to produce both written and statistical reports
- Proficiency in tools such as MS Excel, MS Power BI, SQL, R, or Python.
- Project management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A passion for improving public health outcomes.

The Analytics team sits within the wider Knowledge, Intelligence, and Evidence team in the Public Health Directorate. We are proud to have won national awards for data analysis and novel analytics. Our main responsibility is to provide high-quality data and analysis to drive evidence-based decision-making. We support a wide variety of projects and analytical needs across Public Health and Communities, focusing on improving outcomes and reducing inequalities across the Suffolk population in terms of health and well-being. We also support the wider Suffolk system including, health and care partners across the county.
