Overview

We are recruiting for experienced Band 5 Anaesthetic Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners to join our experienced teams in In-patient Theatres.

About the Trust

The Royal London Hospital is an internationally reputable Trauma Centre and Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). We are part of Barts Health, one of the largest NHS trusts in the country and a leading healthcare provider in the region.

We operate 26 state-of-the-art elective and emergency theatres covering a variety of specialties and complex procedures, including hepatobiliary, complex ENT, trauma & orthopaedics, reconstructive orthopaedics, neurosurgery, complex vascular surgery, intervention radiology, maxillo-facial surgery, robotic procedures, renal transplants, plastic reconstructive surgery, neonatal surgery, shared airway ENT, ophthalmic surgery, and paediatric trauma care. We also cover areas outside theatres such as the endoscopy unit, radio-interventional suite, MRI/CT scanner suites, and our specialised staff work alongside the Trauma Team in Emergency Department Resuscitation areas. This offers an opportunity to work with renowned Specialist Trauma Surgeons and Anaesthetists.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and enhance the well-being of patients by developing specific clinical competencies and enhancing knowledge through a lifelong learning approach.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner, with a passion for Trauma Care and a commitment to own professional development, ideally with experience of working in a busy theatre environment.
  • Committed to developing professional competence and building a skills portfolio through experiential learning and education to maximise career prospects.
