Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Ward Manager to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in Preston, Lancashire. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.

This hospital specializes in the management and treatment of acute mental ill health and eating disorders.

Qualifications: To be considered, you must be a qualified RMN Nurse with an active NMC Pin.

Key responsibilities:

  • Facilitation, promotion, and supervision of education, clinical practices, and audits.
  • Managing the clinical area in the absence of the Ward Manager.
  • Overseeing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, with knowledge of relevant policies and legislation.
  • Identifying and contributing to training needs.
  • Promoting equality, diversity, and rights in accordance with legislation.
  • Operational lead alongside the Ward Manager for inpatient care.
  • Supporting group programs for Service Users.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Clinical supervision experience.
  • Evidence of CPD with a focus on leadership development.
  • Experience in Acute Mental Health.
  • At least 18 months or equivalent post-registration experience.
  • Mentorship experience (training can be provided).

The successful Deputy Ward Manager will receive a salary of £41,475 – £44,648 per annum. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include:
