Role Overview:

Due to continued growth, our Asset Management division offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure all commercial functions for the division are completed to professional standards within agreed time and cost budgets.

What you'll do:

  • Take overall responsibility for the QS team, including Apprentices, Juniors, and experienced Quantity Surveyors.
  • Manage the QS team workload, ensuring contract KPIs and timelines are adhered to.
  • Issue monthly reports to senior management on team performance and escalate risks or issues.
  • Ensure prompt submission of main contract payment applications and fair subcontractor payments in accordance with subcontract terms.
  • Supervise, mentor, and encourage junior surveying staff in their professional development.
  • Prepare forecasts and reports of costs against value to ensure alignment with contract profitability.

What you’ll bring:

As a Quantity Surveyor, your main skills and experience will include:

  • Relevant Quantity Surveying experience within construction or facilities management.
  • Possession of a third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR), forecasting, and monthly reporting.
  • Negotiation skills for settling disputes and accounts with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Good management skills and the ability to motivate colleagues.
  • Operational planning and time management skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working on MTC contracts utilizing schedules of rates (PSA/NSR).
  • Knowledge of construction practices for cost analysis and value engineering.
  • Experience with QS software such as Barcellos.
