Role Overview

The successful candidate will complete project works, reactive response, and planned maintenance services to a wide variety of public and private sector clients throughout Northern Ireland.

What you'll do

The main activities of this role include:

  • Responsible for full installation of fire alarms and security systems. The engineer will travel to customer locations, install, program, and commission systems in compliance with current relevant standards. This requires a deep understanding of current regulations, strong product knowledge, and practical skills to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Responding to reactive fault calls, troubleshooting faulty systems to diagnose issues, and repairing them to ensure systems are functioning and compliant.
  • Performing planned maintenance on Fire and Security systems, checking systems' functionality and anticipating actions to reduce unplanned fault callouts.
  • Providing 24-hour call-out cover on a rota basis.

What you'll bring

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience in installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining fire detection, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems to British and European standards, including BAFE/NSI codes of practice.
  • Familiarity with the products and systems installed and their limitations.
  • Ability to operate PC software for configuration and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of relevant Fire Alarm standards (BS:5839:2017).
  • Knowledge of Security System Standards (PD 6662:2017, BS 8243:2010+A1:2014, etc.).
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills to resolve issues logically.
