Responsibilities

We have 2 positions available for a Quality Inspector role at a global manufacturing company in Kenfig Industrial Estate near Port Talbot.

1 x Permanent role

1 x Maternity cover with possible temp to perm - role will last at least until February 2026

The roles will require the individual to work as part of a smaller team and will report directly to the Quality Manager. The roles will involve working within the quality department and being responsible for assuring the quality of products produced on site. This includes adherence to QMS checks, measurements, sampling, and inspection of products, along with following up and dispositioning any defective product.

The successful candidates will work closely with other departments, requiring both team collaboration and independent initiative. Effective communication at all levels and flexibility are essential to maintain efficient plant operations. The individual should be confident working independently with minimal supervision.

The roles involve measuring production samples throughout shifts for various properties using gauges and measuring devices to confirm product quality. Data entry and analysis skills are required, primarily using Microsoft Excel and Word, with a high level of proficiency in these packages essential.

Initial wage rate - £12.56 per hour (equivalent to £27,499 per annum). Further training levels and remuneration will follow.

Own transport is required as the site is not near major transport links.

Average 42.1 hours per week - 12-hour shifts—rotational 2 days/2 nights, 4 days off basis.

Must have the right to work in the UK.

  • Previous quality assistant/inspector experience
  • Support internal audit schedules for hygiene, BRC, and ISO audits
  • Promote and participate in activities ensuring high safety, operational, hygiene, and quality standards
  • Good communication skills to work well within a close-knit department and in a busy, dynamic manufacturing environment
Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Self-motivated, reliable, thorough, logical, conscientious, and flexible
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with good understanding of people management and interaction with various departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Internal auditing experience
