Responsibilities

Production Operator/Packer required for employment in a global manufacturing company in Kenfig Industrial Estate near Port Talbot.

Initial £12.56/hr wage rate applies to all candidates (£27,499 annually). Additional levels are achievable for the right candidates with remuneration for moving up to these levels.

Own transport is required as the site is not near any major transport links.

Average 42.1 hours per week. Work on a rotational day/night basis: 4 days on and 4 days off, 12-hour shifts.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment with rotational shifts is advantageous but not essential.

Looking for candidates to start immediately.

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Summary
  • Operate machines efficiently, producing quality products on time with minimal wastage.
  • Support the Production Manager in the continual development and improvement of the function.
Key Points
  • Ensure customer requirements are met as per the Job Specification sheet.
  • Operate machines and ancillary processes continuously during shifts.
  • Prepare for ongoing processes such as mixing and granulation.
  • Record in-process checks and ensure all results meet the Job Specification requirements. Certify finished products for dispatch.
  • Meet all packaging and identification needs of the customer.
  • Ensure all dispatch and loading needs are met.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and correctly use machines; ensure materials are properly accounted for and used efficiently.
  • Provide team development and training, including performance appraisals and skills analysis.
  • Ensure in-process inspections, labelling, and packing conform to specifications. Review deviations with quality control and responsible team members.
  • Support other areas of the business, including granulation and out-of-hours work.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Promote continuous improvement ideas from the team.
