Job summary

YorMed Ambulance Service in North Yorkshire is seeking qualified Emergency Medical Responders to join our Patient Transport and Event Medical teams. You will respond to calls, assess patients within FREC 3/4 scope, transport walking, wheelchair and stretcher patients, and deliver first-response care at public and private events across the region.

Applicants must hold a FREC 3 or 4 qualification and C1 driving or driver training, have good written and verbal skills, and be physically fit for

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal skills.
• Understanding of medication recording and reporting.
• Understanding of patient risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to calls, working independently or within a clinical team.
• Make initial assessments and give immediate care within FREC 3/4 scope.
• Transport walking, wheelchair and stretcher patients safely and with dignity.
• Assist with moving and handling, including carry chairs and manual handling aids.
• Provide first-response medical cover at events within an agreed clinical structure.
• Record patient information, observations, care given and escalation decisions accurately.
• Drive ambulance vehicles with due regard for patient comfort, safety and other road users.
